Hello! If I haven’t met you yet, my name is Leslie, founder of LHEvents and obsessor of all things beautiful. You can learn more about me and the rest of the team here, but in celebration of today, I’d like to share the story of how LHEvents came to be.

I remember a day in August of 2013, pacing back and forth in my studio apartment, anxious about the leap of faith I was about to take. “Am I ready for this? What if I’m a big failure? I literally have no idea what I’m doing, owning a business, designing weddings, etc.” The truth is I did, and I knew that God was going to bless that big leap of faith.

Throughout college (Boomer Sooner!) I pursued the magazine industry, and with dedication and several internships, my dream came true – a job offer as an editorial assistant to a prominent wedding magazine in New York. I ended up turning down the job I’d worked so hard for. (The thought of living with five roommates in a rundown Brooklyn apartment suddenly became a bit scary).

Fast forward two years to that moment in my apartment when I decided to open Leslie Herring Events. After diligently learning and growing in the event industry, I decided to make my stamp on the Oklahoma wedding market.

Maybe it was working two full-time jobs, or that I was a newbie wedding planner no one had ever heard of, but I knew that if I could get through one year of business without failing, then I could do anything. Four years later, I’m grateful for how far this little business has come and how many people have challenged and encouraged me to press on.

Our new brand and website truly reflects the heart and value system of Leslie Herring Events. I am beyond thrilled about this thoughtful design, as it represents important stylistic qualities of LHEvents: sophisticated, approachable, gorgeous. My hope for this new chapter of LHEvents is to inspire and work with couples that desire to celebrate their love story in an extraordinary way.
